Susan Griss (M.A.)

New York University, NYC, USA

Susan Griss is a dancer, educator, and teacher-trainer who has been a pioneer in the field of arts-in-education. Her book Minds in Motion: A Kinesthetic Approach to Teaching Elementary Curriculum (Heinemann, 1998) is still widely used.

For the past two decades, Susan has taught graduate courses for early education and elementary teachers in the Continuing Professional Studies program at Bank Street College of Education in NYC.  During that time, she co-founded/co-directed BEYOND PAPER AND PENCIL: Bringing Literacy to Life through the Performing Arts, offering professional development and artist residencies in elementary schools throughout the New York State capital region. Susan has taught teachers throughout the U.S, Slovenia, Israel and most recently India as a Fulbright Scholar.

Sonya Philip (M.Ed.)

American University, Washington DC, USA

Sonya is the founder/ president of Learning Matters Foundation. She loves children and is passionate about giving each child the tools to show their success.

She is an educator with two post-graduate degrees in education from the United States including one in special education. Sonya has over three decades of teaching experience. She has taught at The American School in New Delhi and at The Lab School of Washington in DC.

Besides being a reading specialist trained in several recognised reading programs, she has attended several professional courses at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and at the Reggio Emilia Malaguzzi Centre.

Shweta Malhotra

Save the Children India

Shweta Malhotra is the Senior Manager for the CEO’s Office at Save the Children India. Shweta has an in-depth understanding of child rights issues around Education, Protection and Health & Nutrition. She is a strong advocate of the role that early childhood care plays in building the foundation for learning and development which is greatly influenced by Save the Children India's education work, focussed on Quality Inclusive Education and Early Childhood Care & Development.
